Well, it happens almost everyday, some nut job goes postal and does something crazy. It may not be flying a plane into a skyscraper, it may not be random sniping in eastern Virginia, it may not be shooting up a high school, but it is always something. Some South Korean, V. Tech student couldn’t take it anymore and shot up the school. Well, the pundits are out and casting blame. The European press believes it is Charlton Heston’s fault. Really? Here is a quote from a caption on the webpage. “In America, ‘buying a machine gun is often easier than getting a driver’s license.'” Really? I did not even know machine guns were for sale here. I know I can buy a semi-automatic gun at Wal-Mart, but not a machine gun. They do sell guns, but not online.People believe that this tragedy would not have happened if guns were banned, hence the Charlton Heston blame. Wow, I did not know it was that easy. So, banning guns would have prevented this. I guess that explains why banning drugs, illegal immigration, and drunken driving have worked out so well. All laws do is prevent the innocent from breaking the law. A criminal is not going to think about an act, find out that it is against the law, and then change his mind. Well, it may happen, but in extreme circumstances. People are going to do, or sell, drugs, illegally cross our borders, drive drunk, etc. because that is what they want to do, whether the law forbids it or not.
The pundits are out in force, using this tragedy, to push their liberal agendas, but do not offer any real help or compassion. They are just using this as an opportunity to advance their cause. Well, goody for you. I will use this as an opportunity to help the people of Virginia Tech. I am praying for them, something that is not allowed in a State school.
Update: I have sense learned that guns are already banned on the Virginia Tech campus. I guess that worked as well as banning drugs and under age drinking on campus as well.
