I am a firm believer in low carb diets. They really have worked for me, Debily too. South Beach rocks! I have just heard about a new diet. Well, more of a lifestyle than a diet. South Beach is a lifestyle as well, but I digress.
This website will allow you to measure the carbon footprint of your meal. Yes, your carbon footprint of your food. Vegetables….good, protein…..bad. It appears that methane produce beef is bad for for the environment. Yes, methane is a greenhouse gas. Yes, it is much worse than carbon dioxide. Should I care? Do I care about how much cows belch? I don’t know. There mantra is to have a low carbon diet. Here is the link for those who are interested: Eat low carbon.
I guess this is what the world has come too. We are more concerned about the carbon footprint of our food than individual footprint of the person next to us. This is just another way for people to have disdain and contempt for others. That smug look they have, while eating their salad, is not for health, but for the health of the planet. Or so they think.
Most people on the leftern side of the fence believe the Earth is about 4.5 billion years old. We have had recorded measurements for the last 250 years or so. Do we really have a clue to weather cycles on this rock? We have learned about el nino, la nina, and even the cap. Thanks to Steve McCauley. We are afraid of global warming. When I was a kid we were afraid of the next ice age. Well, which one is it? Are we getting warmer or colder. The short answer is: we don’t know. We do not have enough scientific data to really know. We do not have enough data to know how the Earth’s temperature cycles throughout it’s lifetime.
