Today was my first-ever visit to a dermatologist, and while I won’t bore you with the details of that visit, I will share a story of something that happened while we were there.  I’ve always known Trey and Crisana shared a special relationship, but this made me realize just how special that relationship is.
I had […]

The words you never want to hear from a redneck. Why? Because you know someone is going to get hurt. What happens when this comes from your 4 year old daughter’s mouth? Well, she almost drowns. That is an exaggeration, but it makes for good story telling. Last night […]

Well, today was a typical day. Fill up the car, get Trey’s glasses adjusted, teach him to ride a bike, just the normal stuff. That’s right, my son is riding a two wheeler, as he calls it. We tried a couple months back, but it really did not work out. The […]

This is the new marketing slogan for the Texas Rangers this year.  (Ed. note: it would also be appropriate to use as the title of Ron Washington’s next club meeting, but that’s a discussion for another day) It certainly applied to our night last night.
Matt received 4 free tickets through work to attend last night’s […]

Following her triumph with the kickboard, Crisana was relaxing poolside with her apparent future husband, Michael. He and the other children were wrapped in towels enjoying a snack. Crisana, the dainty fragile flower she is, began to shiver. She looked around and commented loudly, “I sure am cold! I need a […]

Actual transcript from a conversation my daughter had with one of her many suitors.  This occurred yesterday at the pool.

Yee haw! The day has finally arrived for the Texas Pool to open for the summer. For the past 9 months, we’ve been treated to questions of “When will it be May?” “When can we go swimming again?” “When will it be May?” “How long is it until the pool […]

This weekend was a sprint. We had two soccer games, a Cub Scout graduation camp out, one Praise Kids choir rehearsal, and one Praise Kids Concert. All of that was Trey. I have no clue what Crisana did this weekend, or even knew that she was alive. I ended up helping […]

Short & sweet.
Last night Trey informed me how caramel is made.  (He had the remnants of it around his mouth at bath time.)
You just mix ketchup and mustard together to make caramel.  Maybe not so great with apples, but sounds really good on a hot dog.

Literally.
We had our first *real* brush with supercell thunderstorms last night.  Unconfirmed reports stated that several “rope” twisters touched down in Ft. Worth last evening, and confirmed news reports documented straight-line winds in our area with gusts of 70-80 mph.  For the first time in years, I witnessed the power and ferocity of severe weather, […]
