In an earlier post, I decided to buy the HP Media Smart Server for my Windows Home Server. Well, that has gone away. I AM GONNA BUILD MAN!!!!! There are several factors playing into my waffling. I tend to waffle a lot. I don’t really even like waffles much either.
One factor, not the only is that RC has an extra copy of Windows Home Server that I can buy off him. There is no discount, but it allows him to be rid of it while allowing a UPS delivery guy to live. The HP has almost no expansion capabilities. I can void the warranty and upgrade them RAM, but that is about it. The CPU is soldered onto the motherboard, so that is not good. My new system will cost about the same, but be much more powerful and have the ability to be upgraded. I started to look into parts last night, but need to re-spec the system over the next couple of days. I hope to at least order parts by Christmas. I am not sure if that will be possible or not. It should be fun.

Priorities:
Paint first.
Build later.
Keep the wife happy.
