Hypocrisy

This just chaps me.  Last night, first pitch of the Rangers game.  Ichiro Suzuki gets his 3000th professional hit in baseball.  He has some 1700+ hits in the US Majors and some 1200+ hits in Japan.  Okay, that’s great.  3000 hits is a big time accomplishment.  Here is my problem.  He won rookie of the year his first year in the majors.  He had seven years experience and 1200+ hits before coming across the Pacific to play in the US.  Not only did he win rookie of the year, he beat our former Texas Ranger Mark Teixeira for the title.  So Mark looses out to a guy with seven years experience for rookie of the year, yet they allow his 1200+  Japanese hits to be counted towards his professional total.  Hypocrisy I tell ‘ya!
