Your cancer is very important to us, please stand by……

I had my consult with the surgical oncologist today.  We are getting some conflicting information, but nothing really changes either.  The ENT who told me the pathology from the first biopsy may have exaggerated a bit.  It changes very little.  She said that they are 60-70% sure it is Hodgkin’s disease.  She also said that Hodgkin’s cells were present in the sample.  Okay, that being said, the odds are not that good.  Well, the oncologist read me the report today.  The two reports were inconclusive.  Now again, very little changes.

The doctor, in his experience, believe I do have lymphoma.  He just can’t say that in a court of law yet.  He also does not know what type I have.  He just knows that something is whack with my lymph nodes.  I do like him, trust him, and believe he gave me the straight truth.  I am on track to have a surgical biopsy later on this month.  We hope to have it done on the 10th.  That biopsy was the next step based on last Thursday’s findings.  Well, it still is the next step.  Along with a full body CT scan, PT scan, and maybe even a scan scan.  So, nothing really changed, except I may even know less than I did before.  Right now we just wait.  We wait to confirm the surgery date, and we wait for the official results.  They should have a 95% confirmed diagnosis the date of the surgery, and 100% about a week after that.  Prayers are always welcome.
