Losing Teeth and Failing Eyesight

Yes, that is what happens when you get older.  Or so I’ve been told.  It hasn’t actually happened to me.   It’s somewhat depressing to see those carefree days of youth pass by, and witness the inevitable results of aging on a person’s body.  And it is so difficult to watch it happen to someone you really care about…

Like my 6-year-old son.

Trey got his glasses today, and I have to say he did a great job picking them out.  Of course they are blue with a RED stripe, and what I love most about them is that they make his eyes really stand out – showing off those obscene eyelashes.  Now he will look as smart as he really is – and he seems to enjoy wearing them.

And one of these days, those two snaggly teeth that are wobbling this way and that WILL fall out, leaving a great big huge hole in the front of his mouth.  Too bad this will happen AFTER school pictures were taken.

Yes, our little boy is growing up.  And you know what?  It doesn’t matter if his teeth all fall out and his eyesight isn’t as good as it used to be.  He’s still OURS.  And he brings us new joy every day just being part of our family.  It doesn’t get any better than that.  I promith!!
