1st Day, 1st Grade

Well, today my son went off to the first day of first grade.  (Pics to follow later on tonight)  He was ready wearing his new Cars T-Shirt (Let the Good Times Roll), his new Lightning McQueen lunch box and his new Buzz Lightyear (that’s so 1990’s) backpack.  His old lunchbox and backpack were three years old and needed to be replaced, or so I am told.  They looked fine to me, like the underwear I put on this morning.  The bus was about 25 minutes late and we were loading up in the truck when the bus came, so he went on the bus.  There was a PTO coffee at school, so I pretty much followed the bus to school, had coffee, danishes, and then on to work.

It is hard to believe that Trey is now in first grade.  Crisana starts preschool on Wednesday, so that will be a big change for her.  We only have about 19 years until both are out of college, unless they go for a Master’s, or even higher.  My how the time flies.  Times flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana.

  1. We went to Staples later that night to finish getting the last of his school supplies and they happened to have a Cars lunch box. When he saw it, he just knew he had to have it!!

  2. As Reuben says, “time’s fun when your having flies.” It is our anniversary today so we were talking about where we will be in 16 years. Timothy will be 19 and in his second year of college. And I’ll be in my mid-50’s. Ughh! now that’s depressing.

  3. And 16 years from now I will still be 29 and as beautiful as ever….
    and perky….
    and fun….
at least I hope I still FEEL that way!
